Getting started
As a new member of this online community it is important to get the most out of this extensive resource. This module introduces you to the course platform and the collaborative and reflective tools you will be using. You will find out how to use the platform, get support when you need it and create an online presence. You will also think about online communication and reflective practice.
Once you have successfully completed this module, you will receive a digital badge to denote your achievement. You can keep these badges or share them on social media.
The Self-Assessment Tool
The Self-Assessment Tool on the PSGN Online Support for School Platform helps you identify your strengths and areas for development against 12 professional practices, set goals for your professional development and plan activities to meet those goals. It takes about 20 minutes to complete the self-assessment and the results include a list of modules you can take to address the skills gaps.
You can take the self-assessment tool again after you have completed the modules to see how far you have progressed in your professional development.
Understanding Child Protection
The British Council is committed to working with partner school to develop a common understanding of child protection issues and good practice in keeping children safe. The PSGN offers support to partner schools through online child protection awareness and cyber well-being training.
Once you have successfully completed this module, you will receive a digital badge to denote your achievement. You can keep these badges or share them on social media.
The Online Placement Test
This 40 minute online test is designed to test your level of English. It tests the receptive skills of listening and reading along with grammar and vocabulary. The Online Placement Test can only be taken once and you must complete the whole test in order to get a result. The results of the test will place you into one of three English for Teaching courses available on this platform. These courses are at levels A2, B1 and B2.
